Harp stands
It is important to have the harp at the right height when playing, both to ensure good playing technique and to avoid back strain. Some players achieve this by sitting on a stool of a suitable height, but many others prefer to place the harp on a stand, so they can sit on a normal chair, to play.
Our harp stands are small, light-weight and fold flat so they are easy to carry about. They are available to order in most of the woods used for the harps themselves, and have a non-slip surface to the platform to discourage the harp feet from slipping when the instrument is tilted.
We make each stand to suit an individual customer, so we need you tell us the exact height for the platform on which the harp feet will stand. Some customers have found that the easiest way to do this is to stand the harp on a few books, and tilt the harp to the playing position while sitting on the chair you intend to use - by changing the number or thickness of the books, you will find the height that suits you best. (The height of the books will be the height of the stand platform). Most players do not need the stand to provide more than a few inches of extra height, but it can make a great deal of difference to your comfort and convenience.
